Shared Kids’ Closet Reimagined

Client’s Goal

The original closet had a basic shelf-and-rod setup and was functioning as a catchall. The client wanted to transform it into her son’s primary closet—one that made daily routines easier now, but would also grow with him in the years ahead.

Our Solution

We replaced the existing setup with IKEA’s Boaxel system—one of our favorite budget-friendly options for kids' spaces. The new layout created clear zones for everyday essentials like t-shirts, hoodies, jerseys, and sports gear. Adjustable shelving and hanging space ensure the system can evolve as he does.

The finished space is practical, easy to maintain, and thoughtfully laid out to support his current needs and future wardrobe.

Shared Kids’ Closet Reimagined

Client’s Goal

This brother-and-sister duo was sharing a tight builder-grade closet with just one bar and shelf—and a hard-to-reach back corner that made storage frustrating. The parents had tried to improve function with a dresser and organizers, but in such a small space, drawers became more of a roadblock than a solution.

Our Solution

We removed the original shelf and rod and installed a custom Elfa system to maximize every square inch. Each child now has a designated section with labeled baskets, and we added upper shelves to store off-season and less frequently used items. To take advantage of every bit of available space, we finished the closet with an Elfa over-the-door organizer—one of our favorite ways to sneak in extra storage without taking up floor space. Now, everything has a place—and this once-cramped closet feels functional, accessible, and ready to grow with them.
